Take care of dry skin
In winter, our skin is exposed to several stressors. On a daily basis, changing the environment from cold air to heated spaces makes the skin more sensitive. Also, in heated rooms, the air is very dry, which additionally dries and irritates the skin. On winter days, the nourishing skin care is especially important.
How do we recognize dry skin?
Dry skin is recognized by the feeling of discomfort and “tightness”. Dry skin usually recovers more slowly, and is thinner than normal or oily skin. It also secretes too little sebum and is thus more susceptible to harmful factors from the environment. It is important to take care of dry skin properly, moisturize it and offer it a little more fat.
How do we clean dry skin?
Dry skin should not be cleaned with gels and foams, as most of these skin products are very aggressive, and when used, they also remove the lipid layer of the skin, which dry skin already lacks. Always clean the dry skin with cleansing milk, which is rubbed into the skin, and then removed with a tonic-soaked cotton pad. Cleansing milk gently cleanses the skin and nourishes it at the same time, and the tonic restores its pH value to normal levels.
Dry skin care
The next important step after cleansing is the skin care. For dry skin we should use rich nourishing creams enriched with natural oils or butters. For the skin care of dry skin we must also pay attention to the content of moisturizing components in the cream, which are often forgotten.
As an additional care, it is recommended to treat the skin with a mask and/or gentle exfoliation once a week. The mask deeply nourishes the skin, and the gentle exfoliation opens the pores and makes it easier for the skin to absorb the nutrients from the cream.
